To the Atheist and the Agnostic the Muslim says: “Suppose you find a watch in the middle of a desert. What would you conclude? Would you think that someone dropped this watch? Or would you suppose that the watch came by itself? Of course no sane person would say that the watch just happened to emerge from the sand. All the intricate working parts could not simply develop from the metals that lay buried in the earth. The watch must have a manufacturer. If a watch tells accurate time we expect the manufacturer must be intelligent. Blind chance cannot produce a working watch.

But what else tells accurate time? Consider the sunrise and sunset. Their timings are so strictly regulated that scientists can publish in advance the sunrise and sunset times in your daily newspapers. But who regulates the timings of sunrise and sunset? If a watch cannot work without an intelligent maker, how can the sun appear to rise and set with such clockwork regularity? Could this occur by itself?

Consider also that we benefit from the sun only because it remains at a safe distance from the earth, a distance that averages 93 million miles. If it got much closer, the earth would burn up. And if it got too far away, the earth would turn into an icy planet making human life here impossible. Who decided in advance that this was the right distance? Could it just happen by chance? Without the sun, plants would not grow. Then animals and humans would starve. Did the sun just decide to be there for us?

The rays of the sun would be dangerous for us had it not been for the protective ozone layer in our atmosphere. The atmosphere around the earth keeps the harmful ultraviolet rays from reaching us. Who was it that placed this shield around us?

We need to experience sunrise. We need the sun’s energy and its light to see our way during the day. But we also need sunset. We need a break from the heat, we need the cool of night and we need the lights to go out so we may sleep. Who regulated this process to provide what we need?
Moreover, if we had only the warmth of the sun and the protection of the atmosphere we would want something more - beauty. Our clothes provide warmth and protection, yet we design them to also look beautiful. Knowing our need for beauty, the designer of sunrise and sunset also made the view of them to be simply breathtaking.

The creator who gave us light, energy, protection and beauty deserves our thanks. Yet some people insist that he does not exist. What would they think if they found a watch in the desert? An accurate, working watch? A beautifully designed watch? Would they not conclude that there does exist a watchmaker? An intelligent watchmaker? One who appreciates beauty? Such is God who made us.”

If the Prophet Muhammad visited you

I WONDER...

If the Prophet Muhammad visited you,
Just for a day or two;
If he came unexpectedly
I wonder what you'd do.

Oh! I know you'd give your nicest room
To such an honored guest;
And all the food you'd serve to him
Would be the very best;

And you would keep assuring him,
You're glad to have him there;
Your hospitality would be beyond belief

And service beyond compare.

But... when you saw him coming,
Would you meet him at the door
With arms outstretched in welcome
To your honoured visitor?

Or... would you have to change your
Clothes before you let him in?
Or hide some magazines and put
The Quran where they had been?

Would you still watch movies
On your trusty TV set?
Or would you rush to switch it off
Before he gets upset?

Would you turn off the radio
And hope he hadn't heard?
And wish you hadn't uttered
That last loud nasty word?

Would you hide you worldly music
And instead take Islamic books out?
Could you let him walk right in,
Or would you rush about?

And, I wonder... if the Prophet spent
A day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing the things
That you always do?

Would you go right on saying the things
You always used to say?
Would life for you continue
As it does from day to day?

Would your family conversation
Keep its usual pace?
Or would you find it hard each meal
To say a table grace?

Would you keep up each and every
Prayer, forcing back a frown?
And would you always jump up early
For every prayer at dawn?

Would you sing the songs you always do
And read the books you read?
And let him know things on which
Your mind and spirit feed?

Would you take the Prophet with you
Everywhere you normally go?
Or would you , maybe, change your plan
Just for a day or so?

Would you be glad to have him meet
Your very closest friends?
Or would you hope they'd stay away
Until his visit ends?

Would you be glad to have him stay
Forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief
When he at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know
The things you would do
If the Prophet Muhammad, in person,
Came to spend some time with you.

Honesty

Several years ago an Imaam moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the same bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, oh forget it, it's only twenty pence. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from Almighty Allah and keep quite.
When his stop came, the Imaam paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change."

The driver with a smile replied, "Aren't you the new Imaam in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your mosque. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change."
When the Imaam stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried, "Oh Allah, I almost sold Islam for twenty pence!"

Remember, we may never see the impact our actions have on people.
Sometimes we are the only knowledge of Quran someone will read, or the only Islam a non-Muslim will see. What we need to provide, Insha Allah is an example for others to see. Be careful and be honest everyday, because you never know who is watching your actions and judging you as a Muslim.

Once, a group of people were travelling on rocks at night. A voice came from the sky that whosoever picks up the rocks will regret and whosoever doesn’t pick up the rocks will regret.

The people were confused.
How can this be? Whether you pick up the rocks or not, you will regret! Anyway, some people picked up the rocks and some didn’t.

In the morning when they reached their homes, they saw that the rocks turned into diamonds. Now, those people who didn’t pick up the rocks started regretting saying, “If only we had picked up some rocks.”
Those people who did pick some rocks also started regretting saying “Why didn’t we pick up more rocks?”

Both sides ended up regretting.

This same incident will take place with us on the Day of Judgement.
Those people who spent their time in useless things will start regretting by looking at those who achieved a great position in Paradise by spending their time in the way of Allah.
Now, those who did achieve a position in Paradise will start regretting by looking at those who did more than them and are higher in status. “Alas! If we had only done more to please Allah.”

Another story about fate

A story is told about a King in Africa who had a close friend he grew up with.
The friend had a habit of looking at every situation that ever occured in his life (positive or negative) by remarking, "This is good, Almighty knows best"

One day the king and his friend were out on a hunting expedition. The friend would load and prepare the guns for the King.
The friend had apparently done something wrong in preparing one of the guns,
for after taking the gun from his friend, the King fired it and his thumb was blown off.

Examining the situation the friend remarked as usual,
"This is good, Almighty knows best"

To which the King replied, "No this is NOT Good!" and ordered his soldiers to put his friend in jail.

About year later, the king was hunting in a area that he should have known to stay clear of. Cannibals captured the King and took him to their village, The tied his hands, stacked some wood, set up a stake and bound him to the steak.

As they came near to set the fire to the wood, they noticed that the King was missing a thumb. Being superstisious, they never ate anyone who was less than whole. So after untying the King they chased him out of the village.

When the King reached his Palace, he was reminded of the event that had taken his thumb and felt remorse for his treatment of hi friend. He went immediately to the jail to spek with his friend.

"You were right" the King said, " it was good that my thumb was blown off."
And he proceeded to tell his friend all that had just happened.
"I am very sorry to send you to jail for so long.It was bad for me to do this."

"No his friend replied,
"This is good, Almighty knows best"

"What do youmean, 'this is good' ! How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a yer?"

The Kings friend replied: "Remember that the Almighty knows best and if I had not been in Jail, I would have been with you (on this hunting trip)."

DO NOT JUDGE THINGS OR EVENTS BY IT'S IMEDIATE OUTCOME!

Almighty, the Most High, is the All knowledgable, the All-Knower...
He chooses to show us things...
but sometimes we are not shown the wisdom behind somethings.
